I love the beach! but I don't know how to swim and am afraid of the ocean, lol. But I head to Staten Island about once a week. There's a beautiful beach and boardwalk (that's pretty empty usually and very clean) on the southeast side of the island. the waves aren't as big as those you guys get in long island, though.
