How I Fight Stress

Wedding planning, moving and school. All kind of stressful. Very stressful at times. And at times I need a break form all of it, form the planning and the worrying and the answering questions. At which point I need to throw myself into something sort of simple and mindless. Lately that's been downloaded games on PS4.
My happy fun time game is Doki Doki Universe. It's a super cute game where you play as a robot who needs to learn about humanity, or get destroyed for being so out of date. The gameplay is simple, you travel from planet to planet and solve people's problems by summoning items for them. It has cute graphics and funny dialogue. It also has a segment where you take mini quizzes for points and then get analyzed by a lil cartoon therapist.

My other addiction is less cute. Don't Starve is a pretty literal game. The game drops you in a strange wilderness and simply tells you to not die. You have to collect food and build fires and run from monsters in an effort to last ad many days and nights as possible. If you die, it's pretty much game over. That game is like crack to me. I can sit there staring at it mindlessly, just collecting berries and building a reserve of dry grass and twigs for campfires. I'm not great at it, but it's a lot of fun.

Introducing Bun and Bear

So my fiance and I recently started a new blog, BUn and bear, where all of our wedding and everyday life posts are going to be going. I will still share some of the posts here, but for this new chapter of my life, I wanted a space set aside. So if you are interested in offbeat weddings, brides with body mods, vegan cooking and funk apartments, that might be something to check out.

The Hipster Life

Hipster me!

I often describe myself as a hipstergoth because I feel like many of the things I really like fall into one or both categories. Fancy coffee/tea/lattes? Hipster. Black skinny jeans? Hipster AND goth. Being vegan? Hipster as fuck. Tattoos and piercings? Goth and hipster. Partially shaved head? Both again! It's kind of uncanny how certain goth/punk things have gotten so trendy.

Do you like any trendy/hipster nonsense?

I'm getting married!!!

Mike and I got engaged! I'm very excited and super thrilled with how we decided to celebrate. Rather than get a ring we went with something different, a nerdy engagement tattoo! The design is from Battlestar Galactica which is a show we watched together.
So be on the lookout for a new layout and some offbeat wedding planning comig soon!

A new year of things to do!

So after Christmas my boyfriend Mike and I went out with his family to see a show and get a fancy dinner in the city. We saw the show Machinal, which was a very intense story about a woman who kills her husband. The show was short, only two hours, but powerful, and very different from the comedy/musical dramas we saw the last few years.

I've been kind of sick since right after Christmas, so tea and coffee lattes have been my savior. Lately we have been favoring a cute local shop, CrazyBeans, which I will be reviewing soon.

My big thing for the new year, taking better care of myself. that meant a change in skincare routine. Green tea or shea butter bubbles in my baths, lotion with spf for my face and body and a new face wash/scrub/toner/cleansing lotion routine. So far the results have been good, my skin is clearer and my skin is a lot softer, not dry or dull like it often is in Winter

Sadly JB is in Jersey for a while more, but we got to see one another for New Years Eve. Mike came too, and we spent the day drinking tea, eating great vegan food and wandering around New York City freezing our asses off until the show.

I vamped a bit on the train.

I had a lot of fun so far this year, and there's more fun and surprises to come!

Music Spotlight- Gogol Bordello Wonderlust King

I saw these guys perform NYE along with Man Man, and they put on a great show. I love a band that makes me wanna dance and shout and spin around a lot at shows.
