Hallowmas at The Wick

Halloween is a special time of year for fans of The World Inferno Friendship Society. Every year for over a decade now, they have been celebrating Halloween with a special show- Hallowmas. Everyone gathers together to celebrate The Great Pumpkin.

The great pumpkin god demands everyone be sincere, and believe in him. The Great Pumpkins bids everyone join him, down in the pumpkin patch.

The best part of the night was the finale. The whole room was lit up with lights that mimicked flames on the walls, and then fans marched in bearing giant pumpkins, glowing and bobbing around above the crowd. The song, in honor of the Great Pumpkin, has an almost gospel like sound to it, fitting the deeply spiritual nature of the event. The moshing that comes with the breakdown made the pumpkin bounce around like they were floating in choppy surf.

I brought my own little pumpkin offering. he was the only little albino there. I also took him out for coffee before the show since it was a bit chilly outside.
